My mom, niece, nephew and I took a stroll through Daffodil Hill at Lake View Cemetery last week! It was beyond gorgeous and thankfully we finally had a nice weather day this week. My mom had wanted to go her whole life and never went until now! I had also never been so it was really a treat! I had only seen pictures and wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The daffodils just kept going and going, as far as the eye could see!

It was wonderful to experience with my mom who was just in awe of the entire thing. She was so excited to take us there and while the kids were a little less impressed (and having a fear of bees didn’t help), but still had fun.

It seems odd to visit a cemetery for fun, but Lake View is an incredible place with many notable people buried there including President James A. Garfield. But it’s really the beauty and peace of the Lake View that make it a destination. Any season is beautiful and I had previously been in the summer, but seeing daffodil hill in full bloom was definitely a unique experience!

It’s also right near Little Italy which is another favorite spot. After our stroll through Daffodil Hill, we went to Presti’s Bakery for some sweet treats. My nephew (and all of us really) loves desserts and cookies. It was so fun to see him looking at all the options and deciding what he wanted. He went with some cinnamon sugar star cookies. My niece got a piece of pizza and a maple donut-like dessert. Mom got a raspberry chocolate mousse, and for me, a classic Cannoli…when in Rome!
