The Mohicans Treehouse Wedding

The Mohicans Treehouse Wedding for Laura and Sean featured a colorful and fun design for an intimate guest list of their closest family and friends. The Mohicans is such a cool venue in the woods complete with treehouses and cabins for your guests to stay!

When we started working together, Laura and Sean were still living in California so they wanted help from the beginning of the process. We created a colorful design that accented the venue without taking away from the natural setting. We worked on selected vendors that were perfect for their vision and everything came together flawlessly.

Ceremony

With potential storms coming in later in the night, I thought we were in the clear for their outdoor ceremony. However, as Mother Nature would have it the storms that weren’t coming in until late the entire day came in several hours early, RIGHT at the ceremony time. With quick work and help from all the vendors and some of the bridal party, we moved everything up into the loft for the rain plan! Thankfully the back up plan was just as pretty and cool as the initial plan.

The colorful design was executed beautifully and Kirsten from Bear Roots Floral knocked it of the park with the florals. From the arch to the playful table centerpieces it was all gorgeous. The vintage chargers and glassware gave some unique fun and color as well. All of the stationery was perfect for venue and Brittney of Brittney Nichole Designs did an awesome job from the invitation to the day of stationery, all keeping with The Mohicans theme, complete with a map of the entire property to help guests find their treehouses!

For their cake, we took polaroid photos during their first look and used them as the cake topper which was so sweet! Not to mention the cake was incredibly delicious…and VEGAN! For favors, Laura and Sean enlisted the help of family and friends to collect vintage mugs for months and made this fun display. It was such a hit with guests and a sustainable way to have favors that everyone can use.

Reception

Even though it changed the plans, the rain actually ended up for making some pretty magical photos later in the night when Laura and Sean danced in the rain. It was totally worth pulling them off the dance floor for a few minutes! They also snuck into the treehouse and took the most fun, sweet pictures of them jumping on the bed. This was one of the best parts of the day because I just love their playful personalities enjoying their day!

It was also really important for them to recycle their flowers at the end of the night so we donated them to Stems for Seniors which helps make arrangements that are delivered to local seniors. This is such a great way for flowers not to go to waste and to bring some extra joy to seniors!

The Mohicans Treehouse wedding was one of our favorites because it was so unique! Check out the last blog on a more traditional wedding at The Athletic Club of Columbus.
