2023 Wedding Planning Recap

2023 was my fullest year of weddings yet! I planned seven weddings and they were all amazing in their own ways. From different designs and styles to totally different types of venues, this year kept me on my toes and kept things interesting. See my 2023 wedding planning recap below with the wonderful weddings and incredible couples I worked with in 2023.

Kiran and Ross

Kiran and Ross’s Indian-American fusion wedding took place at the Hilton Easton in Columbus. It was a two day event starting with the sangeet on Friday, followed by the baraat Saturday morning then the ceremony, a lunch, then an evening reception and dancing.

This couple is so much fun and had many vendors I’ve worked with before as well as lots of new ones. There are so many show-stopping photos from this day, but what I will remember the most is how much fun they had and working with their lovely families.

Jillian and Jason

Jillian and Jason chose The Exchange at Bridge Park in Dublin for their venue because they loved the idea of having easy access to hotels, restaurants, and bars for their guests.

These two had an epic dance party, complete with stunning overhead lighting. I also love that their wedding party included their closest friends and family on either side as opposed to the traditional bridesmaids on the bride’s side and groomsmen on the groom’s side.

Nicole and Andrew

Nicole and Andrew are the sweetest humans. Their wedding took place at Pinnacle Golf Club with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor reception. They combined their love of Disney with special nods to Nicole’s family’s candy store that has been around for generations.

The candy bar was such a highlight and guests loved it! They also had a live band which guests enjoyed throughout the night and didn’t want to leave the dance floor!

Daron and Andrew

Andrew is a high school friend of mine, so this wedding was extra special. Working with friends is always such an honor and getting to know Daron through the wedding planning was so much fun. Their wedding took place at Daron’s family property in Sandusky right on Lake Erie. Private property weddings are so unique, but also can be tricky to plan! Everything has to be brought in, transportation can be difficult, and in this case, the threat of epic thunderstorms throughout the day created lots of challenges.

However, the rain mostly held off somehow even though radar showed it all around us! They exchanged vows overlooking the lake and the reception was held in the backyard along the bay side.

Abby and Dan

Abby and Dan got married at The Beverly Mansion, north of Columbus. This is such a unique property with the historic mansion, beautiful property, and permanent tent for receptions. Abby and Dan are so kind and they have the sweetest son as well. Dan also had his little brother as his best man, and let me tell you, he took the role seriously even at his young age!

The beautiful black and white color scheme kept the event current while honoring the historic nature of the venue.

Mallory and Ryan

I connected with Mallory and Ryan right away. Like me, they both attended Ohio University so we had that bond from the start! They are fun people to be around and had a gorgeous vision for their wedding day at Retreat 21 that included an outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor reception with a stunning blue color scheme.

Mallory has a great eye and included so many gorgeous details from custom signage, to elevated linens, to stunning florals.

Sarah and Jay

I closed out the year with Sarah and Jay’s December wedding at Vitria on the Square. Sarah was actually a bridesmaid in a wedding I planned last year. It is always so fun working with people again and having referrals mean the world to me.

Sarah and Jay embraced the December season, but didn’t get too Christmas-y with their decor. They still wanted an elegant wedding that was also full of fun, personal touches like their cocktail napkins with fun facts about them. They included nods to Jay’s Indian culture with classic Indian desserts and a ring warming ceremony. These two also had a live band which guests enjoyed as well as the spacious cocktail hour space. Vitria is a newer venue and I loved it!

My 2023 wedding planning recap has reminded me of all the incredible work I did last year with my couples and amazing vendor teams. Wedding planning isn’t easy, but honestly it is a dream and I’m so lucky to do this for a job and be with people on their favorite days.
