Hilary and Charlie’s Vue Columbus wedding was a gorgeous summer wedding where guests had good food, good drinks, and lots of dancing! They are such a fun, easy going couple. Hilary’s family is from Michigan, but Charlie’s family is local to Columbus so we worked with Charlie’s mom on a lot of the planning (the photo of Charlie’s mom seeing the reception with them is so sweet!) All of their family and friends were a joy to work with and fun to be around. We started planning over drinks at Milestone 229 and hit the ground running from there! They had a good handle on the planning, but wanted some help at the end of the process which I always love doing.
Getting Ready and Details
Portraits
For their portraits, Vue is a great central location for lots of Columbus spots. Hilary and Charlie had actually been at their favorite bar, Short North Tavern, when another StR couple went there for drinks and photos after their ceremony. After they saw them (not knowing at the time they were another StR couple!) they decided Short North Tavern had to be a stop on their wedding day as well! The pictures are great and they had lots of fun with their wedding party too!
Ceremony
They chose Vue as their venue because they love downtown and wanted that fun experience for their guests. It was the perfect style and vibe for their day. They had both the ceremony and reception at Vue. The ceremony was very sweet, with some happy tears and lots of laughs.
Reception
While guests attended cocktail hour in the adjacent room, we flipped the ceremony space to the reception. Flips are always a little tricky, but thankfully we had an incredible vendor team and this one was seamless! The reception was beautiful with upgraded linens and gorgeous florals from The Paper Daisy. They chose to have a small cake to cut and then have an assortment of desserts from their favorite Columbus spots – Lion Cub’s Cookies and The Cheesecake Girl! After dinner and toasts, guests danced the night away. Hilary also had a fun outfit change and I’m always here for a sparkly reception dress!
