Jess and Elliot are the kindest people and we had so much fun planning their Muirfield Village Golf Club wedding. They both have busy careers and when we started the planning process they had also recently purchased a home together and were embarking on a big remodel of the house. Needless to say, with so many things going on simultaneously they wanted some extra help in the wedding planning process.
Their November wedding lucked out with the most beautiful fall day. It was sunny and the temperatures were fairly warm. November can be a tricky month for weddings due to weather, but thankfully, we had no issues! The ceremony was held at St. Andrews Catholic Church while the reception was at Muirfield Village Golf Club (home of The Memorial Tournament!) which is such a unique and cool venue. The covered outside portico made for the perfect cocktail hour location complete with a fireplace and views looking out over the 18th green.

This Muirfield Village Golf Club wedding was full of fun surprises! Jess’s family had several traditions that they wanted to include in the big day. This made for some unique experiences for us as planners, but we had so much fun. First, a bagpiper played and led the guests from cocktail hour so another surprise on the practice green. Then the guests looked up to the sky to see skydivers parachuting down to the green. As if that weren’t cool enough, they also let off fireworks as they were coming down. We timed it to be at sunset and the views were perfection!
Reception
The rest of the night was full of good food, fun, lots of dancing, and even a skit from the bride’s family! One last surprise that we organized was handing out “bandanas” to the guests. This is a tradition at family weddings on Jess’s side and they kept the tradition going. Everyone wore theirs in different ways and wore them throughout the night. We loved being a part of this day and coordinating all of the one of a kind surprises. It was definitely one for the books!
