A Weekend in The Hamptons

When my cousin and I planned our weekend in the Hamptons last year we planned our trip by asking what would Ina Garten do? So we set out to follow Ina’s lead while creating a trip that worked for us! The blog from last week shows our idyllic Hamptons Airbnb so check that out for info on where we stayed!

Bike Ride

Part of why we chose that Airbnb is because bikes were included! It was a small detail, but we loved it and it was a big selling point. So right when we got there we hopped on the bikes and explore Southampton!

We explored Cooper’s Beach, Meadow Lane, and a ride along the Meadow Lane Boardwalk.

East Hampton

We started Day 2 by heading to East Hampton. We strolled around, got a picture by one of the famous Hamptons windmills, then got some lunch and smoothies at Mary’s Marvelous (on recommendation from Ina, of course).

As expected, it was so fun to see all the typical Hamptons homes and architecture. We walked around which was a great way to see the neighborhood.

Montauk

We drove through lots of other areas in the Hamptons and then headed out of the Hamptons and continued east all the way to Montauk. We really wanted to get the full Long Island experience. Montauk was definitely a different vibe, but we had lots of fun exploring there too. The Montauk Point Lighthouse was beautiful and we enjoyed a stroll on the beach. It’s also an area that’s huge for surfers. While I’m definitely no surfer, it was fun to watch! This area is definitely more touristy, but I didn’t mind it. We stopped in some fun shops and picked up some touristy Montauk swag, because why not?!

Loaves and Fishes

Another Ina recommendation was a visit to Loaves and Fishes and it was the best. I mean look at it, it’s the most quaint shop and feels right out of an episode of Barefoot Contessa. They had so many delicious options and I was immediately overwhelmed in the best way. Luckily, there were some locals in line behind us and she suggested lots of delicious options! We also got some treats to take back home as souvenirs for our family and they loved them!

It was the perfect late summer evening so when we got back to our Airbnb, we took the (way too much) food we got out to the porch with a glass of rosé and had the most idyllic evening!

Added bonus: I always love to send postcards and even better if you send them while you’re still traveling, which is ultimately the goal! The key to this is to bring stamps with you. A quick walk to the post office to mail our postcards back home is always a fun thing to do and something your loved ones will appreciate!

We had the best weekend in The Hamptons! We explored lots and unsurprisingly loved all of Ina’s recommendations.
